Alloy A286 Springs also known As Nicr A286 Springs are cold drawn and precipitation hardened manufactured from A286 Steel Wire. It has good Good corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. A286 is a Nickel-Chromium alloy with the addition of aluminum to give outstanding resistance to oxidation and other forms of high temperature corrosion with the ability to maintain high mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. A286 Springs are used for applications that require high strength in temperatures from -320° to 950°F (-196° to 510°C)
Nicr A286 has a typical chemical composition makes them highly corrosion resistant with outstanding performance in extreme high and low temperatures. Alloy A286 Springs are nonmagnetic which is an important property for devices such as gyroscopes, chronoscopes, and indicating instruments with high electrical resistance.
Precipitation hardening at 1300°F-1400°F (704°C-760°C) , Hold for 16 hours, allow air cooling.
Tensile Strength: 160 - 190 ksi; (1100 - 1310 MPa)
Suggested Operating Conditions: -300°F to 750°F (-184°C to 400°C)
Heat Treatment: After spring coiling. Age: 1300 - 1400°F (704°C to 760°C) for 8 hours
Tensile Strength: 200 - 240 ksi; (1379 - 1655 MPa)
Suggested Operating Conditions: -300°F to 750°F (-184°C to 400°C)
